A backlog is painful because it records more commitments than the team intends to honor, not because root-cause analysis is clerical work. Claude can investigate tickets and open pull requests, which is useful, but it cannot decide whether the product deserves a feature or whether a bug is worth fixing. Automating the queue does not remove the scarce work. It makes deciding what not to do more important.
